Both of these rescue babies were adopted by Melinda and JR.

Sweetie Pie AKA Sweet Pea

Sweetie was an owner turn in, well sort of. She had been purchased at a Flea Market by a couple for the lady’s mother. The puppy’s registration was from a group called the Kennel Consortium in Alabama. After awhile, the couple realized that the puppy was only being fed, kept in yard, and generally neglected. They took the puppy back. A trip to the vets for shots (none in over 6 months) also revealed that Sweetie had heartworm. The couple cured her and contacted TXOESR. Sweetie was spayed and placed for adoption. Melinda (previously owned by OES) and JR fell in love. Sweetie now shares a loving Austin home with two other Sheepies and lovely long hair mix (no sheepie at all). Good going by the original buyers, and great job in training Sweetie by Melinda and JR.

Buckley

Buckley came to TXOER as the result of a divorce. After being boarded at the vets for 3 months, the Dr. owner turned him over to us. Buck is a former show dog, it broke our hearts to neuter him. He is a big guy, over 100 pounds and sweet as a lamb. He was 8.5 years old when he can into rescue. Sally fostered him over the holidays until JR met and fell in love. Buck is now part of the Sheepie trio with Melinda and JR in Austin. Melinda has told us that she parts with any one or more of her babies over her dead body. All are in their forever homes! The third sheepie is a 6 month old show puppy from Sally’s kennel.
