The TXOESR rescue folks always respond immediately to a shelter alert, an owner turn-in request or emails stating "we found a sheeper".  A "found sheeper" email came in, and I realized it was a local number, so I called and made arrangements to go look at the girl.  From the description I felt it wasn't a sheeper, but it still needed checking.  She was a "street" dog that this Rescue Angel had taken in to find her a home.

Thus Miss Dixie-doodle came home with me.  She wasn't an OES, but such a darling little girl.  I thought I'd put her up on the website anyway, to find a "forever" home for her.

Before I could even get her webpage created, she had won my heart.  She's a shy girl who immediately got along with the other guys and girls here.  She has come out of her shell.  She bounces up and down at the front window when I leave and when I arrive back home.  She will be a good therapy dog once she has completed a few obedience lessons.  She learns very quickly and her aim is to please.  She's got a terrible scissor-cut, and I had to remove very large mats from behind her ears.  Once I do a serious grooming on her, and she grows out, she will be a beautiful little dog.

Her heartworm test came back positive, but since she is a young girl (between 1 and 2) Dr. Julie feels she will come through it with no problems.

You can see why she's not going anywhere....who could resist that little fuzzy face?
