Steve and Diane,

Tom was at Town Lake and barely caught this shot with the camera in his cell phone. Fanny jumped into the tree chasing a squirrel. You can see the squirrel's tail hanging outside the trunk (looks like ball moss). She's jumped in trees often since, but we haven't caught it on film. She doesn't want to catch them. If she is rapidly approaching the squirrel, she slows down. She doesn't want to sink her teeth in them, she just wants to play chase.

Here's my funny account:? About 10 or 12 Harley riders were worshipping the statue of Stevie Ray Vaughan at Town Lake when Fanny jumped into a tree between two huge trunks growing from the same spot and got stuck. She was flailing about so that I ran across the park to her, freaking out while the motorcyclists were yelling, laughing, cheering whatever you want to call it.

She freed herself just before I got to her and one of them yelled "We saw that". She's a quirky one.

Fanny warmed up to her new home rapidly.  She now jumps in bed with
us in the morning just before the alarm goes off, to ensure time for a belly rub.
We’ve installed a doggy door in the back wall of our home, so she comes and
goes as she pleases.  She loves the cool weather and often sits just outside
the glass door chewing on her bone.

Fanny is very wary of strangers, men more than women.  She is finally
lightening up around our co-workers and family she sees frequently.
She can hardly contain herself when we arrive home from work, but I’ve never
seen her act that way with anyone else.  Fanny possesses such an intelligent,
thoughtful look, much more than any dog I’ve encountered.

She seems pretty attached to us as well.  She jumped a full-size fence when
Tom was moving the rented tables from our backyard to the truck after our
wedding.  I don’t think she wants to lose him.  We’ve added an extension to
that portion of the fence.

Lately, she’s been accompanying us to work more often.
Tom is a psychologist, so she has been hearing all kinds of interesting
accounts sitting behind his chair during sessions.  And when he is not in
session, she wanders around the office (where everyone loves her) or romps
around in the vine-covered courtyard just outside his office.  Unfortunately,
she is not able to visit my office as often, but she is a big hit when she does.

She goes to coffee with us every weekend and some weekdays where she
sits on the deck collecting attention from admiring passers-by.  Afterwards,
we take long walks in Pease Park or go to the dog park at Town Lake, which
are distinctly different experiences for her.  She is quite adventurous on Pease
Park’s leash-less trail where she hunts squirrels and wades in the creek.
Town Lake provides her with the opportunity to play with other dogs.
Chase (or herd) is her favorite game.

She has enriched our lives with her playful, loving nature.

Good morning,

Here are the photos of Fanny. There are photos of her in our backyard
the first month she was here (before her buzz) and photos of her at
the wedding. She licked and pawed one of the cakes within the first
five minutes it was on the table. Later that evening, Tom had fun
posing with her in front of the cake she sampled before the guests had arrived.

All is well here. Fanny is adorable and makes occasional trips to
work with us.
