JOE went through a sad time in his life when "Mom and Dad" divorced.  His new keeper (can't call her an owner) stuck him in the backyard and did little else but feed/water him.  After Joe was retrieved by former "Dad" when he realized what was happening and  turned him over to Rescue, Joe was nursed back to health, mentally and physically, by Cindy and Terre.  He was adopted and flew off to be with "Forever Mom Susan" in MI.  Susan  already had a 3-legged rescue gal, Skyler (sometimes referred to as Tripod..pictured).  Judging from the email from Susan, things are good there, just as we thought they would be.

"Cindy, I wish you could see my 2 little knuckleheads now!  Apparently our evening game is for Skyler to start out playing catch with her squishy ball, then Joe steals it and plays keep-away with her.  All the while he shakes his big ol' head back and forth making sounds like a bear (last night when Skyler decided to just ignore him if he wasn't going to give it up, he actually dropped the bal and rolled it toward her with a push of his nose).  After a bit of that they start play-bowing and tussling until I start to fear for my furniture.  One thing though:  Joe might just like Skyler too much - when she gets him revved up to play he'll follow her around doing this boy-dog thing that makes me think we should rename him Elvis the Pelvis  (now if he could just start liking the kitties a little better!).  Also, he now has a team of adoring babysitters that come over a couple times a day to let him and his gal out when I work.  I'm picking up the pix today so you should have some coming in the mail."

(and take a look at the Christmas card Joe received from Skyler, even before he made his plane trip to MI.)
