Dan wrote on November 30, 2006: Here's a recent photo of Luke with long hair. He's doing great--still likes to run the neighborhood if you give him half a chance, but we don't give him many except when he's on lead and we go for a jog. He's eaten a full 16 oz. jar of salsa, drunk grease from our fry daddy, and pulled many other capers with food to earn his "iron stomach" award. We've also gotten him down to a healthier 85 lbs. or so (from a high of about 105). It's amazing what this dog can eat without having a gastrointestinal meltdown...other than onions, but that's another story! Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! We're sleeted in today and are expecting 5-9 inches of snow later today. Steve and Donna fostered him and called him "Bandit" because of the mask over his eyes and because he could escape from almost anywhere. Well, he is not an Old English Sheepdog after all. Bandit is a bearded collie and probably the most fun loving dog we have ever fostered. Bandit is very lovable but loves to explore on his own.
Bandit found
the perfect home. Bandit's forever home is with Dan and his
family. Dan is a minister so he gave Bandit a Biblical name, Luke.
Luke now
lives with Dan, his wife and children and has become Dan's best
buddy. Dan is a distance runner and Luke loves to go along. Dan
has lots of good stories about Luke. Thanks, Dan, for loving Luke
and making a good home for him.
