This seven-month old little
girl was left at the Pasadena Shelter the Thursday
before Hurricane Ike. The shelter had her for the
appropriate length of time and then released her to Texas OES Rescue.
Despite being filthy and matted to the skin, not even
having worms and fleas could damper the bright spirit of
this bundle of happy energy.

Sadie is now clean and beginning to once again look like
an Old English Sheepdog. She is super sweet, gets along
well with other dogs, and is full of energy. And since
she was abandoned, we have no shot record history or
even her name. She is now current on all shots,
heart-worm negative, growing quickly, and is a happy
pup. Sadie will soon be spayed and ready for adoption.

Sadie is quickly catching on to the concept of house
training, which is a nice improvement from when she
first arrived. She even appeared to be unfamiliar with
what dog food was but certainly knew about people food.
She jumped up for any food we had in our hands and
rushed to the pantry to quickly grab whatever she could
get.

Sadie is learning not to beg
at the table or TV trays and has learned the commands,
“Out!” and “Out of the kitchen.” She heals well on a
walk, but has no clue what “Sit,” “Stay,” “Down,” and
“Lie” are all about. We strongly suspect that Sadie is
accustomed to sleeping on furniture, but, is doing well
sleeping on the bedroom floor. We haven’t seen how she
would be around children since she’s still too active
without manners right now. However, based on her
personality, we suspect she would be excellent with
children. Sadie definitely requires lots of patience
and proper training, but she is all puppy. Sadie is one
of the sweetest OES girls we’ve fostered in a long time.
We know you’ll fall in love with this loyal pup just as
we have.

Do you understand OES
puppies? If so, we have a great match for you! Sadie
deserves a home with lots of love, attention, and
patience.
