Shepp Shepp has a story that will grab your heart. This rascal has no business being the happy, friendly sheepdog he is.
When Shepp was turned over to the animal shelter, the hair around his mouth was so badly matted that he was unable to open his mouth enough to eat. That is why he looks so thin – he was starving. Shepp weighed 45 pounds when Texas OES Rescue picked him up . We have been over-feeding him a little to get his weight up. For his height, Shepp will probably end up at about 60 pounds.
When they took Shepp out of his cage at the animal shelter, he ran straight to me and began telling me how glad he was to see am. Shepp is his first name – Friendly is his middle name.
Who could resist a face like this. It say’s, “Please adopt me!”
Shepp is up-to-date on his vaccinations and had a complete medical examination including blood analysis. Although he was half starved, he is in good health and has lots of energy. No worms including heartworms and he is neutered. He has one understandable trait – because he was so starved, he eats like crazy and will take things off the kitchen counter if you aren’t paying attention. However, he is not food aggressive.
Shepp loves people and other dogs. He will chase a cat if the cat runs but doesn’t if they don’t run. Cats are just another game for Shepp. He gets along with other dogs – sometimes, too well. Other dogs may tire of Shepp wanting to play.
