In consideration of my receiving from TEXAS OLD ENGLISH SHEEPDOG RESCUE, INC. hereafter known as TXOESR, the dog described below, I hereby agree to care for this dog humanely, including food, grooming, shelter, veterinary care, and to license this dog in accordance with the laws in the jurisdiction in which I reside.
 

I also agree to keep the dog as a house pet and not as an outside yard dog.   I agree to exercise the sheepdog in a fenced yard or on a leash daily and the dog is not be chained or tied.. This dog is not to be allowed to roam the streets. This dog is not to be allowed to ride in the open bed of a truck or trailer. This dog is not to be left behind during inclement weather evacuations such as hurricanes, floods, etc.  Electronic shocking collars or pinch collars (prong collar) are NOT to be used on this dog.   These types of collars can cause the animal to turn aggressive if not used properly by a professional. Electronic shocking fences are not to be used.  Chock collars are NOT to be left on animal while unsupervised as death can occur.
 

If recommended by Texas Old English Sheepdog Rescue, I agree to enroll my dog in a dog obedience class and I will attend the classes with the dog. Sending the dog off to be trained without the bonding of owner has proven not to be as effective.
 

I also agree to keep this dog on a monthly heartworm preventative and a monthly flea and tick preventative. This dog will be vaccinated for Lyme disease if prevalent in my area or other known diseases as recommended by my veterinarian.
 

I agree not to give-a-way, sell, trade, or dispose of this dog in any way, but to return this dog to the TXOESR Representative listed below if at any time I wish to relinquish custody. I further agree that the dog shall not be used for medical or other experimental purpose.
 

It is understood that a Rescue Committee representative may examine and make inquiry about said dog any time and if not satisfied with the conditions in which the dog is being kept, the sheepdog may be reclaimed by the Rescue Representative immediately. It is also understood that I must inform them of any change in address or phone number.
 

NEITHER TEXAS OLD ENGLISH SHEEPDOG RESCUE, INC., ITS OFFICERS OR VOLUNTEERS, NOR ANY RESCUE COMMITTEE REPRESENTATIVE MAY BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONDUCT OR HEALTH OF THIS DOG.
