Updated pictures & story 05-25-06

Kim in Maryland sent these recent photos of the first Winston.  Bob and Kim adopted him last November.  If you remember, they flew to Dallas, rented a car and drove two days back to Maryland with him.  Winston was the boy who had spent years in a cage and was nearly dead of Heartworm.  Look at the remarkable change.  Donna and I miss him the most of all the dogs we have had here BUT this is what makes it all worthwhile.

This was Winston when TXOESR Foster Family got him.

Here is Winston today.

Winston’s Story  11-13-05

Meet Kim and Bob

Fairy tails don’t end, they just say, “and they lived happily ever after.”  Well, that’s Winston's story. Many wonderful people contributed to save his life and get him healthy.  Then Winston and his forever family found each other.

Do you think it was this look that melted Kim's and Bob's heart?

Winston is our miracle dog.  He will make Kim and Bob very happy and they said Winston will never have another unhappy day in his whole life.

As you can see, it was love at first sight.  Actually, they loved Winston before they met him.  How do we know?  We know because Kim and Bob flew all the way from Maryland to Texas to meet and adopt Winston.  Then they rented a car and drove 1,450 miles home to Maryland.  That's the nice kind of people they are.

What better way to get to know each other than a long morning walk before that long drive home?

Winston learned a lot of new things while in his foster home.  After years in a cage, Winston learned how to be a dog.  He learned his name. He learned how to eat well.  He learned how to come when called.  He learned to walk on and off a leash.  AND he learned how to BEG as you can see from this picture.

Here is Winston with his foster brother and sister, Mikey and Bonnie.  Winston is such a gentle boy that he gets along well with everyone, including Mikey and Bonnie.  This good boy even gets along with cats.

Here's Kim giving Winston his breakfast and a "good boy" pat.
